Before summer Project

Rodo, Courtney and I set off one day to work on a project for ERJ ( El Retiro Juvenile). The project was for a church in the states that financially supports ERJ. They were preparing for a VBS project for their kids back in Indiana. We went and asked each child from ERJ their name, age, grade in school, and what they wanted to be when they grow up. We recorded it for this specific church and sent it to them so their VBS kids would see and learn about other cultures and the children in those cultures. Rodo sat in with the boys and translated for them and I sat in with the girls to translate. Courtney was our videographer for the day!
It was a wonderful day spending time with each one of them. Listening to their stories about what is going to happen when they get older and what they want to study. As we went through each child i just remember praying for them! Praying that God would make those kids dreams come true! That the children of ERJ would never lose hope or sight of what they want in life. To know and believe that they can achieve their dreams. Whether it was to be a doctor, social worker, fireman, policeman, nurse, psychologist, or a care taker! Having hope and dreams of being a wife or a husband with little ones running around.

I feel like a lot of children in orphanages can lose sight of that. They feel like they have no purpose and that no one loves them. And that is why BACK2BACK is here!!!! To remind them of every accomplishment that they have had and to further their education with success. Praise God we are here and are able to speak truth into these little ones and to see some dreams being met.

This day reminded me that I am constantly in battle for these children that we serve. I need to be consistently praying God's promises over them:
Gods promises to the Orphan child:

He promises to-
vindicate them,
rescue them,
deliver them,
not leave them,
come to them,
hear them,
lift them up,
be their Father,
make them a home,
lead them out,
not to forget them,
extend mercy towards them,
execute true justice,
provide them with food and clothing,
be their helper,
maintain their cause,
and incline His ear!
